Hertha BSC inspires fans not only on the soccer pitch. Digitally, the capital club also plays in the top league. In order to present the club's long history, information on the teams and the current season's highlights online in a fitting manner, the blue and white team engaged diva-e as its digital lead agency.

With the conception, design, implementation and operation of a new website, the transactional experience partner scored points with the traditional club. Since then, Hertha's online presence has shone with emotion and technical perfection. diva-e convinced the capital club above all with its extensive experience in all leading technologies. Objective

Emotions on the digital field

Fans and those who want to become fans meet at the "Olympiastadion", the home ground of the blue and white team. However, in order for Hertha supporters to also become permanent visitors on the website, the traditional club wanted an emotional design that reflected the club's image.

Together with diva-e, Hertha BSC is doing everything in its power to emotionalise fans on the digital field as well and make them want to return.

Implementation

Tactical approach with digital expertise

Taking all interfaces and apps into account, diva-e programmed an accessible and performance-oriented website based on Bloomreach's headless CMS. The project also focused on an emotional, modern design with moving images in all areas of the website. The scalability of the solution, which can map the large load differences between match days (high, punctual load) and normal operation (low, even load), posed a particular challenge.

The successful implementation was primarily due to the tactical approach and cooperation at eye level. In intensive coordination, diva-e and Hertha BSC jointly developed modern design ideas for the new website that reflect the club's vision. The integration of components from other providers and APIs, in particular the integration of HerthaTV, Matchcenter and sports data, was carried out under diva-e's full responsibility - using the latest web technologies. The digital experts also provided technical advice on Azure, Bloomreach and frontends for headless CMS systems.

Result

Emotional design, future-proof technology

diva-e developed a new state-of-the-art website for Hertha BSC, which not only realised the vision of an emotional design, but is also perfectly positioned technically. The Hertha editorial team can maintain the new online presence comfortably and comprehensively. The new website is also future-proof, flexible and scalable due to the technology based on Headless Bloomreach and NuxtJS in Azure.
