STAUFF is a leading company in the development, manufacture and supply of piping components and hydraulic accessories. The STAUFF brand is to be further strengthened and its positioning as a global benchmark for quality, technology, innovation and performance in the field of fluid technology components, systems and services consistently expanded.
In order to meet the constantly growing market requirements and to retain customers through even better services, STAUFF has commissioned diva-e for the replatforming project of its existing commerce components and the development of a user-friendly, open B2B digital platform.
For this purpose, Spryker was selected as a modern, scalable and future-proof architecture and technology base that enables good integration into the existing system landscape as well as the close integration of content and commerce.
STAUFF, the full-range supplier in the field of fluid and line components, offers its customers a range of over 50,000 standard components in ten different product groups as well as a large number of special and system solutions. The globally active family business with around 1,400 employees from the Sauerland region in North Rhine-Westphalia is one of the leading international suppliers in the industry. The company generated external sales of 256 million euros in 2019.
In order to provide business customers with optimal online access to its wide range of products and services, STAUFF decided to replatform its existing online store, which allows customers from Germany and the UK to order goods electronically.
The purpose of the replatforming project for the existing commerce components is to create a holistic and open B2B digital platform based on solutions from diva-e's technology partners Spryker and Bloomreach.
To implement the relaunch, diva-e designed and developed the new STAUFF Digital Platform with forward-looking B2B features that perfectly align with the digitalization strategy:
In an agile process, we continuously identified weaknesses and obstacles in the usability of the entire online shop, from product pages and checkout to the account area. Based on tracking data, we analyzed and prioritized actions that could achieve measurable improvements in user-friendliness with minimal effort. At the same time, we developed concepts aimed at reducing personnel costs in the service area and increasing online shop sales.
Identification of user obstacles through data-driven user analysis
Analysis of use cases and design of tailored features to illustrate pain points and functionality explanations
Development of a component-based design system to ensure consistency and better coordination with development
Evaluation through user testing and tracking data analysis to measure success and continuously improve features
Additionally, based on the needs of platform users and their daily tasks, the product catalog with over 50,000 products was structured to optimize the customer user journey. This streamlined structure enables customers to quickly navigate and find the desired products. Customers can also instantly retrieve individual pricing based on quantity through the "Check Price and Availability" feature. Furthermore, the Quick-Order function allows customers to upload orders—containing item number, quantity, and desired delivery date—in various file formats for immediate ordering. Project lists can also be maintained for recurring orders, enhancing convenience for periodic purchases.
A special feature for registered customers is the maintenance of customer-specific material numbers, which are stored in the customer's own merchandise management system. This enables seamless integration into the customer's own business processes. Another unique selling point of the portal is the conversion of competitor article numbers. This allows customers to find and order identical STAUFF products via competitor article numbers in the portal.
The new STAUFF Digital Platform offers customers a comprehensive, digital service experience and provides them with a flexible and individual shopping experience.
