Keyword research can be extremely time-consuming, especially when dealing with a large volume of keywords. How to simplify this process was discussed in the Digital Bash session titled "Build Your SEO World the Way You Like It - DIY SEO Tools & Solutions."
Our SEO expert Raymond Eiber delved into three diva-e SEO tools during his Digital Bash talk—covering everything from the initial problem to implementation and ongoing operations. He also shared insights into how his team developed a tool for automatically clustering keywords.
Managing Large Data Volumes
Keyword research is typically exported into an Excel spreadsheet. Depending on the industry and company, this can involve very large datasets that quickly become unwieldy. Clusters can help by creating a form of categorization, allowing each keyword to be assigned to a relevant URL. However, with a large number of keywords, this process can be labor-intensive and time-consuming.
This challenge led to the idea of automated cluster creation. The tool extracts the top 10 Google search results and compares them with the search results of individual keywords. Additionally, keywords with similar search results are grouped into clusters. The cluster tool only needs to be programmed and built once, resulting in a significant increase in efficiency.
A concrete example, shared live during the talk, makes these complex processes more tangible. If you'd like to jump directly to this use case, skip to minute 06:45 in the video.
Solution Approaches and Tools
Automatic Keyword Clustering:
Raymond outlines how he and his team developed a tool that automatically clusters keywords into topics. This tool analyzes the search results for each keyword and groups similar keywords together. This helps better organize keyword lists and target content more effectively toward specific topics.
Automatic Redirect Map:
Another tool developed by this team is an automatic redirect map. This solution assists in strategically creating redirects after a website relaunch. It analyzes the old and new URLs of a website and automatically suggests suitable redirects. This saves SEOs time and ensures that the website remains well-indexed.
SEO Plugin:
The final tool introduced is the SEO plugin, which offers various SEO functions. This plugin helps SEO managers work more efficiently and avoid errors—even without programming knowledge. Developed by Raymond Eiber himself, this SEO plugin is completely free.
