Klöckner & Co is one of the world's largest producer-independent steel and metal distributors and offers its customers a wide range of services, from consulting and procurement to warehousing and distribution. For four years now, Klöckner has relied on diva-e as a strong partner in the development of digital solutions.
The joint project: to develop an online marketplace in the context of Klöckner's overarching digitization strategy that provides all the necessary features for successful online trading in steel products from Klöckner & Co and complementary products from third-party suppliers. The aim of the project is to simplify the sales effort for small and medium-sized business customers in particular and to drive forward Klöckner's digitization.
The successful project was implemented in two phases: First, a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) was implemented - the successful go-live took place after only four months of project duration. In the next step, diva-e supported Klöckner in implementing a fully functional B2B online store. Part of the online store system is a customized Hybris Product Information System (PIM) and Content Management System (CMS). 16 diva-e experts support Klöckner & Co in implementation and further development as well as hosting and application operation.
diva-e supports Klöckner & Co in the development of a marketplace consisting of a B2B online store, an integrated third-party offer and an administration portal for contract customers. SAP price calculation in Hybris and a data warehouse connection contribute significantly to process optimization at Klöckner. The fully comprehensive marketplace functionality and country-specific approval processes for product listings are further highlights of the successful joint project between Klöckner & Co and diva-e. The online store includes an individual product configurator and a bulk order form, allowing Klöckner & Co to simplify interactions with customers and increase the number of transactions. The steel trading giant already generates more than a quarter of its sales through digital channels - and has thus made the leap into a digital future together with diva-e.
